Scudetto TrophyItaly’s top 20 clubs are eagerly anticipating the official unveiling of this season’s Serie A schedule.

As with any other season, a number of different factors have been taken into account by the powers behind the schedule, in order to make the season as smooth as a logistical process as possible – although this is not always how things unfold.

The upcoming schedule will continue the insistence on having the biggest games avoid the midweek fixtures, with the notable exception of the Derby della Madonnina between AC Milan and Inter.

Again, the Serie A administrative brainboxes have had to be cautious around stadium shares, ensuring that teams alternate between home and away fixtures in order to let their other tenant have an equal chance.

Additionally, all of Atalanta, Bologna, Carpi, Napoli and Udinese will be handed away opening fixtures as they rush to get their stadium renovations done in time, while Torino will also travel elsewhere due to hosting a sporting event.
