Juventus defender renews contract until 2020

Leonardo Bonucci JuventusJuventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has signed a new contract with the Bianconeri.

The 28-year-old had been in negotiations with the club for some time and the likes of Real Madrid were reportedly interested in the Italian but the former Bari man has now committed his future to the Old Lady.

According to SportMediaset, Bonucci has signed a contract that will keep him at Juventus Stadium until 2020 with an annual salary of €3.5 million plus bonuses.

Bonucci is expected to confirm his renewal imminently in a press conference alongside club president Andrea Agnelli.

Bonucci made 34 appearances and scored three goals in Serie A during the 2014-15 season as the Bianconeri claimed a fourth consecutive Scudetto.

The 28-year-old has made over 150 appearances for Juventus since joining from Bari in 2010 on a contract that was reportedly worth €15.5m over four years.

The defender also made 13 appearances in the Champions League as Juve made their way to the final in Berlin where they were defeated by Barcelona.
