Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has heaped praise on defender Leonardo Bonucci saying it’s been ‘a pleasure’ to work with the Italian international.
The Bianconeri held a press conference on Tuesday morning to announce the 28-year-old’s contract extension, which should see him stay at the club until June 2020.
“Leonardo was only the second purchase made under this management,” Agnelli said.
“Once this contract draws to a close, he will have been at Juventus for 10 years.
“I’ve seen him grow over these five years, both as a player and person. It’s been a real pleasure.”
The Italian also spoke of how proud he was of Juventus’s Italian core.
“The contract renewal falls in line with our blueprint. We’re proud of our group of Italian players.
“We’ve spent five years alongside each other and we now look forward to the next five years that lie ahead.”
