Lazio’s forward Filip Djordjevic talked about what his partnership with Miroslav Klose meant to the team last season and showed determination ahead of the upcoming season.

Given the absence of other proven attackers in Stefano Pioli’s squada, a lot was expected of the aforementioned duo in the 2014/15 campaign, and they responded to the challenge by combining for 25 goals in all competitions to help the Biancocelesti to 3rd in Serie A and to the Coppa Italia  final.

“[Klose] and I had more than 20 goals and had an important season,” Djordjevic told the media.

“He is a very important player on and off the field.

“It is an honor to have him on our team and we work together very well.”

With Champions League around the corner and still no attacking reinforcements at the Olimpico, it looks like another busy campaign for Djordjevic and Klose, but the Serbian international is ready for it.

“It was a difficult year because I was injured for a long time last season,” he said. “I still played well but I can improve. I have a great desire.”
