Lazio will focus their efforts on Genk midfield ace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, as they continue their search for a Cristian Ledesma replacement.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a superb debut season in Belgium, and was also an influential figure for the Serbia under 20’s as they clinched the FIFA U-20 World Cup last month.
Milinkovic-Savic has also been on the radar of English powerhouses Manchester United and Arsenal, but admitted last week that he is desperate for a move to the Biancocelesti.
Il Messaggero report that Lazio have raised their offer to €5.5 million plus bonuses, and are ready to offer the player €650,000 per season to make the move to the Serie A.
The wage rise is huge considering Milinkovic-Savic is currently on only €80,000 per year at Genk, and now the club must decide if Lazio’s offer meets their valuation of the player.
Milinkovic-Savic scored five goals in 24 matches for Genk last season.
