New AC Milan signing Luiz Adriano has heralded his side as one of the most important clubs in the world, while saying that the transfer represents a very important day in his career.

The Rossoneri confirmed on Thursday that Luiz Adriano is now a Milanese striker, joining in an €8 million deal and signing a five-year contract, with the player stating his delight in an interview.

“Today is a very important and happy day for my career,” said the Brazilian to Calciomercato.it.

“I leave Shakhtar Donetsk after eight years, a club that was very important to me, and they believed in my potential and made me known in world football.

“I have arrived at one of the most important clubs in the world, I’m very happy and I cannot wait to begin to train and play for Milan.”

The 28-year-old joined former Sevilla hitman Carlos Bacca in joining Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side, with the Colombian also being confirmed on Thursday.
