Edin Dzeko’s move from Manchester City to Roma is close but is being held back due to Roma being unable to meet the asking price set by Manchester City.

Roma have reportedly already agreed a salary believed to be €4 million per season for the player. However, the deal has hit a stumbling block due the fact Roma currently can’t meet Manchester City’s asking price of €28 million.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the deal hinges on Roma being able to shift one of Gervinho or Mattia Destro. Gervinho looked set to leave Roma for Abu Dhabi side Al Jazira. Unfortunately for Roma, the deal fell through due to Gervinho’s demands.

However, if Roma can manage to move on one of these two players a deal for Dzeko does look likely.

Dzeko has made 185 appearances during his time at Man City, scoring 71 goals.
