Mario Gomez FiorentinaFiorentina striker Mario Gomez is reportedly close to joining Turkish giants Besiktas.

The German centre-forward has struggled to find his best form during an injury-ravaged spell in Florence and has been linked with an exit from the Stadio Artemio Franchi for some time.

According to Sport Italia, the 30-year-old’s situation will be resolved imminently following discussions with Besiktas.

It is believed that an annual salary of €4 million has been agreed between the player and the Istanbul club – a figure that matches his current earnings.

Now it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a transfer fee with a meeting scheduled to take place later on Tuesday.

Turkish sports newspaper, Fanatik, claims that La Viola will accept an offer in the region of €7 million from the Black Eagles.

Gomez joined Fiorentina in 2013 but has only managed to find the net seven times in 29 Serie A appearances.
