Miranda expressed his delight at joining Inter after completing his move from Atletico Madrid.

After a four-year spell in the Spanish capital, the 30-year-old Brazilian becomes the club’s second major signing after the arrival Geoffrey Kondogbia last week.

“I am very happy to announce that I am officially an Inter player,” Miranda tweeted from his official Twitter account.

“I want to thank the club and the fans for the warm welcome I received when I arrived in Milan; I will do everything I can to prove I am deserving of it with my performances on the pitch.”

Inter owner Erick Thohir welcomed Miranda to Italy and believes the defender will be a vital component of the squad he is building for coach Roberto Mancini ahead of next season.

“Miranda is another important player who can contribute a lot,” the Indonesian businessman tweeted through the club’s official account.

“He is an experienced player who cannot wait to be involved in this new venture.

“The beginning of the season is fast approaching and it is always an exciting time, for us and for the fans.

“Forza Inter!”

Miranda joins after a successful spell in Spain, winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Europa League during his time with Diego Simeone’s Atletico.
