Higuain - NapoliRoma are in the hunt for a new forward, and despite agreeing personal terms with Edin Dzeko of Manchester City, the Giallorossi are also looking at Napoli hit man Gonzalo Higuain.

Currently preparing for the Copa America finals, the 27-year-old Argentinian is at the top of the list of the Giallorossi, but the club will struggle to match Napoli’s demands.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli have zero intention of giving away their talisman for anywhere below their own valuation, demanding cash plus a future star if Roma are keen on signing the former Real Madrid man.

Napoli have demanded €60 million and youngster Alessio Romagnoli, before relinquishing their star striker.

Giuseppe Giannini — former Roma captain who spent 15 years with the club — urged Roma to secured the signature of either Higuain or Dzeko, but expressed a preference for the former.

“The Argentine especially would be perfect, given his relationship with Napoli is no longer exciting,” Giannini said on Tuttomercatoweb.

“If he wants to play in the Champions League, Roma could be a great opportunity.”

Higuan scored 18 Serie A goals and recorded seven assists for Napoli, again leading the Partenopei’s goal-scoring charts for the second year running.
