Napoli v Trabzonspor Europa LeagueNapoli midfielder Gokhan Inler has turned down the opportunity to join Watford, preferring to wait for a move to Galatasaray.

The 31-year-old Swiss international is set to leave the Partonopei this summer after four successful years with the club to embark on a new experience.

Inler was involved in a deal that would see him and Miguel Britos move to Udinese in exchange for Allan, but then both be subsequently loaned out to sister club and English Premier League new-boys Watford.

Sport Italia report that Inler has decided against the move to England because he has his heart set on a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, who want him to replace the outgoing Felipe Melo.

Inler’s refusal to join Udinese is unlikely to scupper Napoli’s move to Allan however, with the Brazilian midfield general all set to make the move to the Partonopei regardless.
