Napoli are close to completing the signing of Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Vlad Chiriches.
The 25-year-old Romania international joined Spurs from Steaua Bucharesti for a fee in the region of €9 million in August 2013. Chiriches is expected to agree personal terms and pass a medical before signing a contract at the Stadio San Paolo.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the versatile defender will arrive in Dimaro tomorrow and complete the transfer, adding extra defensive cover to Maurizio Sarri’s Partenopei squad ahead of the new season.
Chiriches has found regular first-team football hard to come by in North London, making just 25 Premier League appearances in two seasons. The Azzurri are expected to seal the transfer for €6 million.
Napoli would also like to add Sassuolo defender Sime Vrsaljko to their ranks despite the two parties yet to agree on a transfer fee.
