Vrsaljko - SassuoloNapoli have scheduled a meeting with the agent of Sassuolo full-back Sime Vrsaljko in the hope of landing the Croatian defender, as the new Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri continues his re-building job ahead of the coming season.

The southern giants have already strengthened their squad with the captures of goalkeeper Pepe Reina, and midfielders Mirko Valdifiori from Empoli and Brazilian Allan from Udinese.

The Azzurri are now set to focus on increasing their defensive options in the coming weeks, with Cagliari defender Davide Astori also close to joining the club.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Ciucciarelli have targeted the former Genoa full-back for their defence, with a meeting set to take place on Wednesday night between the parties, in the hope of negotiating a successful proposal for the former Dimano Zagreb defender.

The 23-year-old has made 44 appearances in Serie A since his move from the Modri to Genoa in 2013 for €4 million, signing a five-year contract, but only lasted one season with the port city side before moving to the Neroverdi for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2014.
