New Anderlecht signing Stefano Okaka has revealed that he’s honoured to have a chance to play for the Belgian side after recently completing his move to the club from Sampdoria.

The 25-year-old officially joined the Purple and Whites on Tuesday after spending just one season with the Blucerchiati and he admits that he’s impressed by his new team’s history and is looking forward to being a positive contribution to the squad.

Okaka spoke to Anderlecht’s official website about his decision to join the Belgian club and insisted that he’s hoping to please the fans and his new team-mates.

“I chose Anderlecht because it’s a great club and a great organisation,” said the Italian international.

“I was very fascinated by the idea of joining this great family. It’s the most famous club in Belgium and in the past there have been many great players here.

“Now I want to put myself at the service of the coach and adapt to this team’s style of play.

“I’m honoured to come and play here and I hope that I can please the club’s fans.”
