Free agent and controversial striker Pablo Osvaldo is being linked with a return to former club Bologna.

The 29-year-old Italian international was released from his contract with English outfit Southampton last week, and is free to decide his future.

Osvaldo spent time at Bologna during the 2009/10 season, where he then moved to Espanyol in which he was a huge success in La Liga, netting 21 goals in 46 matches.

Tuttomercatoweb report that Osvaldo has already rejected a contract offer from Boca Juniors, as his intention is to remain in Europe for at least a few more years.

There are a number of clubs queuing up for his signature, including Bologna, while the player has also received a number of proposals from Major League Soccer franchises.

Osvaldo has gained a reputation of a bad-boy in European football after a number of misdemeanors have constantly landed him in hot water during spells at Roma, Inter and Southampton.
