Palermo are considering the idea of signing former AC Milan forward Giampaolo Pazzini on a free transfer.

Pazzini, who has spent his whole career in Serie A, is now a free agent after his contract with AC Milan expired this summer, but could have his future resolved soon with the news of Palermo’s interest.

According to a report in Tuttosport, the Rosanero’s move for Pazzini comes after difficulties with their negotiations for Boca Juniors forward Jonathan Calleri.

Palermo are looking for a replacement for Paulo Dybala after he was signed by Juventus earlier this year for €32 million.

The 30-year-old forward made 26 appearances last season, 22 coming of the substitutes’ bench, netting five goals in the process.

Pazzini spent 3 years at AC Milan, making 86 appearances in total, scoring 24 goals for the Rossoneri.

During his career Pazzini has had 25 caps for the Italian national team, with his last coming in 2012.
