New signing Giampaolo Pazzini is unveiled in the 2015-16 Verona home shirt.New Hellas Verona signing Giampaolo Pazzini admitted he had some heated discussions with coach Filippo Inzaghi during their time together at AC Milan.

The 30-year-old forward also spoke of his pleasure at joining the Gialloblu and linking up with his old friend Luca Toni.

“I had a very good time at Milan regardless of the results,” said Pazzini to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Sure, I certainly wanted to play more and do better in the last year and a half but the fans always supported me and that was the greatest satisfaction for me.

“With Filippo Inzaghi I had lots of calm discussions and others which were less calm.

“After the final one which was decidedly animated I decided to drop the argument and just get on with my work.

“In some ways I could have made myself heard more directly rather than just waiting.”

Pazzini also went on to speak about he is looking forwards to a new adventure with Verona.

“I wasn’t expecting the level of enthusiasm from the Verona fans,” said Pazzini.

“It’s the perfect situation for me, I needed a club where I could feel the unconditional support of everybody.

“I am very confident that I can score 10 to 15 goals, when I’ve played consistently I’ve always scored goals.

“Who knows if there’s a place waiting for me in Europe?”

Pazzini also spoke about his relationship with Toni after the two were good friends at Fiorentina and his familiarity with Hellas coach Andrea Mandorlini.

“He [Mandorlini] gave me my chance at Atalanta so I’m linking up again with somebody I can always rely on,” said Pazzini.

“Toni? Together we’ll take responsibility and do our very best, respecting the wishes of the coach.

“He [Toni] is a brother to me, my best man and he’s a legend on the pitch.”
