New signing Giampaolo Pazzini is unveiled in the 2015-16 Verona home shirt.New Hellas Verona signing Giampaolo Pazzini has said he is excited by the opportunity of playing for the Gialloblu and to play with Luca Toni.

The 30 year-old has signed from AC Milan on a free transfer after his contract with the Rossoneri expired in June.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Pazzini was asked about why he moved to Verona.

“I really want to show, coming here that I wanted to play and be challenged.

“Here I immediately felt a great confidence, I wanted that most of all. That was crucial.”

Pazzini also said he was excited to be able to play with Luca Toni.

“Luca is a champion and his enthusiasm is an inspiration to us all.

“There is a strong relationship between us and the idea of playing with him fascinates me. I hope it will bring us a lot of satisfaction.

“We can play together, otherwise I would not come. We are two strikers who play well with their teammates”

In addition, the ex-Inter and Fiorentina man was asked about his new coach Andrea Mandorlini and if he hopes that he can get back into the Italian national team.

“The coach has a great desire, I saw the usual enthusiasm and the usual attention to detail. He has not changed from how I remembered him.

“The national team? It is not my priority. I hope to have a great season, but if the opportunity arose then I would of course say yes.”

In his final season with Milan, Pazzini endured limited first-team football and as a result was asked about his relationship with former coach Filippo Inzaghi.

“I have always trained peacefully even if I wanted to play more. But there was never any problem with the coach.”

Finally Pazzini gave a message to Hellas Verona supporters saying, “I want to play and do well for me and for Hellas.”
