Inter captain Andrea Ranocchia has declared Real Madrid a “great side” following Los Blancos’ 3-0 victory over the Nerazzurri in Monday’s International Champions Cup meeting in China.
Goals from Jese, Raphael Varane and James Rodriguez sealed a comfortable win for Rafael Benitez’s side but the Italian International has played down the importance of the result.
“Real are a great team and it is normal to make a few mistakes at this point of the season,” said the 27-year-old in an interview with the Inter Channel.
“The result is not as significant right now but Inter should still always be winning.”
He continued: “Apart from the result, we’ve played some good football.”
“This period is all about hard work.
“We will head to Brunico now [were their pre-season will continue] and we will be cramming in double training sessions to improve our fitness.”
