According to reports in Italy, Roma and Inter are battling it out for the signature of Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder.
The two clubs have been very active in the transfer market so far with Inter already having completed four signings. The Giallorossi have completed two transfers already and are also in for a number of other players one of which is Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko.
According to Il Messaggero, Roma are looking at Sergi Darder as a replacement for Andrea Bertolacci who left for AC Milan earlier this summer. Kevin Strootman’s poor injury record is also a factor behind the move for Darder who is expected to cost around €11-12 million.
However, they face stiff competition from the Nerrazzuri as they look to improve on last season’s dismal eighth place finish.
Darder was a key figure at Malaga last season, making 33 starts and scoring 4 goals.
