Roma are reportedly eyeing a move for Chelsea forward Mohamed Salah as they look to strengthen their frontline.

The 23-year-old Egyptian was on-loan at Fiorentina during the second half of last season, but decided to leave La Viola, who had an agreement to extend the loan and make the transfer permanent. Meanwhile, Inter have been accused of making an offer to the winger which led to him departing Florence.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Roma are looking to give Salah another chance in the Italian top flight, if they are able to sell Ivorian winger Gervinho.

The Giallorossi were keen on bringing Salah to Stadio Olimpico in January, but were not able to agree upon a deal with Chelsea.

Roma are looking into rebuilding their attack with the likes of Gervinho, Seydou Doumbia, Mattia Destro and Adem Ljajic all deemed expendable by coach Rudi Garcia.

Salah scored six times in 16 appearances in all competitions for La Viola and was a revelation after key man Juan Cuadrado was sold to the Blues, scoring key goals in both the Coppa Italia against Juventus, and sealing off the victory against Tottenham Hotspur in their Europa League fixture.
