Roma are in talks with Manchester City to sign Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko for a fee estimated to be around €20 million.

Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini has identified the 29-year-old as his primary target for the summer transfer window and hopes to finalise the move before the club’s first pre-season friendly on July 25.

English newspaper The Guardian have confirmed that the two clubs are currently trying to negotiate a deal which could see the player sign a five-year contract and potentially earn up to €4.5 million a season.

If the transfer is completed, then the estimated €20 million fee will be paid in three instalments.

Roma are currently in the process of trying to refresh their forward line ahead of the forthcoming season, which could well lead to the departures of both Mattia Destro and Seydou Doumbia.
