Roma are planning to launch a bid for Torino full back Bruno Peres.

Roma’s first choice right back Maicon missed the majority of last season with a knee injury, managing just 14 Serie A appearances and Roma have identified the 25-year-old Torino defender as his perfect long term replacement.

Tuttosport report the Giallorossi are planning to make an official offer for Peres, but must first sell some players and trim down their squad.

Gervinho, Seydou Doumbia, Alessio Romagnoli, Adem Ljajic and Mattia Destro have all been linked with an exit this summer and the sale of some or all of these players would significantly improve Roma’s spending power.

Brazilian Peres’ attacking style seems to be tailor made for Roma coach Rudi Garcia’s 4-3-3 system.

Peres stole the headlines when he scored an incredible solo goal against Juventus in the Derby della Mole last season and he made 34 appearances for Torino in Serie A in the 2014/15 season.
