Roma are negotiating with Torino to obtain the services of the 25-year-old Brazilian full-back Bruno Peres as they look to bolster their defence during the summer transfer market.

Peres played a key role in Giampiero Ventura’s side during the 2014-15 season, often featuring as a right midfielder in the Granata’s 3-5-2, but the Brazilian also featured as a more orthodox right-back when il Toro lined up with four at the back.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini is eager to include Carlos Carbonero as a makeweight in the deal to sign Peres in an attempt to reduce the cost of the transfer fee.

Peres tallied three goals and three assists in 28 games for il Toro during the 2014-15 season, demonstrating his prowess in attack and also defence.

Carbonero is owned by the Giallorossi but was sent out on loan to Cesena to experience more first team action but the Colombian was frequently played out of position and put into the centre of the park instead of his preferred right midfield role.
