A loan move to Serie B could be Leandro Paredes’ only route to consistent playing time, although the Roma midfielder is reluctant to move down to Italy’s second-tier.

The 21-year-old was given a decent opportunity to express his talents in the Giallorossi jersey in the latter months of the 2014/15 season, making 10 appearances in Serie A and even scoring a vital goal in the 2-1 win away at Cagliari.

However, former Boca Juniors man Paredes needs to gain more experience of Italian football and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a number of Serie B clubs have made offers to loan the Lupi youngster for the upcoming campaign; something the Argentine is not currently wanting to accept.

If Rudi Garcia’s Roma manage to bring in sufficient recruitments in the coming months, it may be a case of inevitability for Paredes, who initially joined Venetian side Chievo to move to the Italian peninsula and has also been capped at youth level for Argentina.
