Roma striker Seydou Doumbia has rejected the chance to move to Turkey, according to reports.

Super Lig club Fenerbahce have been linked with move for the Ivory Coast forward, but the 27-year-old is determined to prove himself at the Giallorossi and will not accept a move to Turkey.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that a return to Russia would be plausible for the striker, who netted just twice since moving from CSKA Moscow in January, and it is the Russian Premier League runners-up who are interested in taking back Doumbia.

Leonid Slutsky’s side have offered the Lupi a deal but only on a loan basis, something which Roma are very hesitant to accept as they urgently need transfer income to fund a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

Doumbia joins Gervinho and Mattia Destro as Giallorossi players who have failed to accept moves away from the capital club this summer, thus putting their transfer plans on hold.
