Massimo Ferrero SampdoriaSampdoria’s famously eccentric president Massimo Ferrero was at it again after he mocked local rivals Genoa and accused their coach Gian Piero Gasperini of being a crybaby.

The film producer was responding to the suggestion from Grifone boss Gian Piero Gasperini that his side would do better in the Europa League than Samp had they not been denied a UEFA licence.

“Seeing that Mr Gasperini can’t get angry with his president [Enrico Preziosi], he should listen to this song by Alberto Sordi ‘Get lost, get lost’ and stop being such a crybaby,” said Ferrero on his official Twitter profile.

“I dedicate this song to Mr Gasperini, who is always thinking about my Samp, but you can cure that with a Malox [an indigestion drug].”

Ferrero’s outspoken message appeared to strike a chord with Sampdoria fans and the club president then proceeded to retweet a series of images manufactured to mock Genoa’s coach and president.
