Sampdoria are set to complete the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernando.
The Brazilian landed in Italy and is due to complete his medical tomorrow, before signing a contract with Sampdoria.
Samp president Massimo Ferrero was ecstatic at the 23-year-old’s capture, expressing his delight at being hours away from finalising his transfer.
“We made the purchase of the year,” Ferrero said on SampNews24.com.
“We took one of the best midfielders available on the market today. We are talking about Fernando here!
“He arrived today at Linate [Genoa airport] and he will join the team on Monday for the training camp in Ponte di Legno.”
The Italian media report that Sampdoria sealed the Shakhtar midfielder’s signature for €8 million. After delaying his arrival for having recently become a father, Fernando has finally arrived and now looks set to wear the Doria shirt.
