Sampdoria have turned their attention to Boca Juniors ace Jonathan Calleri.
The 21-year-old Argentinian shot to international fame last week after his audacious rabona goal against Quilmes that upstaged Carlos Tevez’s homecoming at La Bombonera.
Calleri has established himself as one of the most promising talents in South America in recent seasons after netting 15 strikes in 44 appearances since joining from All Boys.
Tuttomercatoweb report that Sampdoria are attempting to steal a march on Palermo for the highly-rated striker, who is valued at around €12 million by his club.
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is targeting a huge signing for the forward line after seeing Samuel Eto’o leave, and Stefano Okaka set to follow, and believes Calleri is the perfect addition.
