Xherdan Shaqiri’s stay in Serie A looks to be a short one with reports circulating in Italy that Inter have reached an agreement with Stoke City to sell the player.

The 23-year-old only arrived at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in January on a four-and-a-half year deal from Bayern Munich but did not manage to immediately settle and secure a starting spot.

Sky Sport Italia are now reporting that a deal has been agreed with the Potters to sell the Swiss international to the Premier League and end his disappointing spell with the Nerazzurri.

It is believed that the fee Mark Hughes’ side are paying for his services is €17 million.

Although he managed two goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for Inter since arriving, he found himself out of the starting side for big games – such as the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.

Stoke City had previously been keen on signing Shaqiri in January before he opted to move to Italy.
