New Roma signing Wojciech Szczesny says that winning trophies was a factor in his decision to sign with the club on loan.
The Poland international arrived on a one-year loan deal on Wednesday, and has wasted no time in explaining his thought process behind the decision, speaking highly about the potential that he sees at the club.
“I came here to win matches and trophies with Roma and I believe the team is strong enough to do so,” the goalkeeper told the Giallorossi’s official website.
“I think there is great potential.
“I know the faces of the players and I know the names, so hopefully I will settle in very quickly.”
Szczesny was made available for loan by parent club Arsenal after the arrival of Petr Cech from fellow English Premier League challengers Chelsea.
