Torino have stepped up their assault on Hull City as they look to bring in Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez from the Championship side.

The Granata, among other Serie A clubs including Chievo, Hellas Verona and Bologna, have all been linked with moves for the former Palermo marksman this summer.

Sky Sport Italia report that Toro are keen on a deal that would see him arrive on an initial loan deal with a stipulation to make the move permanent at the end of the season, dependent on the activation of certain clauses, but The Tigers are holding out for an outright sale this summer.

However, while Torino are very keen on the 24-year-old, they are preparing alternatives given the differences between themselves and Hull over the particulars of the deal.

One of those is Palermo’s Andrea Belotti as well as Cesena striker Gregoire Defrel although club president Urbano Cairo has been turned off a move for the latter by the Serie B side’s demands of between €3-4 million, a fee he believes to be too excessive.
