Centre-back Vlad Chiriches has officially completed his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Napoli.
The Romanian international had been a Spurs player since 2013 and had been linked with a move to Napoli’s Serie A rivals Roma during the January transfer window, with the English Premier League side rejecting an offer to let him join the Giallorossi on loan.
The Azzurri have now completed a transfer for the defender as Tottenham’s official Twitter account confirmed his departure to the Partenopei.
Chiriches’ playing time next season was likely to be limited following Tottenham’s recent defensive reinforcements and a move away has been on the cards for a while.
The 25-year-old appeared 43 times for Tottenham during his two seasons at White Hart Lane, with just 25 of those appearances coming in the league.
