Former Juventus striker David Trezeguet has hailed Mario Mandzukic, insisting the new arrival will be an ‘important player’ for the club.
The 29-year-old Croatian international arrived from Atletico Madrid last month after just one season in La Liga, and will have a tough task of replacing former talisman Carlos Tevez.
“He’ll be an important player for us, one that we believe very much in,” Trezeguet, now an ambassador for the Bianconeri, told Sky Sport Italia.
“He really wants to do well here and become a protagonist for the squad.”
Trezeguet installed himself as a club legend due to his goal-scoring exploits for the Old Lady, scoring 171 goals in 318 appearances, during 2000-2011.
