allan udineseUdinese president Franco Soldati has denied that his club have received a bid from Napoli for midfielder Allan.

It had previously been reported that the 24-year-old Brazilian was close to joining the Partenopei as they seek to shore up their midfield following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

However in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss, Soldati said: “We have not received an offer from the Azzurri [for Allan].

“We do not wish to deprive [new coach Stefano] Colantuono of our top players.

“The coach is thrilled with the players at his disposal.”

Interestingly, the Zebrette president admitted interest in Napoli’s Colombian forward Duvan Zapata, stating that “there have been talks but a deal is not close.”

This may suggest that Zapata could be included as a make-weight in a deal that would see Allan move to Naples.

The defenisive midfielder has made over 100 Serie A appearances for Udinese since joining in 2012 and has attracted admirers with his strong tackling and impressive range of passing.

Zapata has struggled to break into Napoli’s starting XI, making just 17 appearances and scoring six times in 2014-15.
