Watford have confirmed the permanent signing of Udinese forward Matej Vydra on a five-year contract.

The 23-year-old arrived at the Friuli in 2010 from Banik Ostrava but failed to make the breakthrough and was continually farmed out on loan.

He was first loaned out to Club Brugge but stayed in Belgium for just two games after picking up an injury but after joining the Hornets in 2012/13, he scored 22 goals.

The Czech Republic international spent the next season on loan in the English top flight with West Bromwich Albion before managing 16 goals in 31 starts for the Vicarage Road side as they gained promotion last season.

Vydra made just two Serie A appearances during his spell with the Zebrette.
