AC Milan forward Alessio Cerci could make a surprise return to Torino.

Cerci left Torino last summer moving to Milan but after an unsuccessful loan spell at Atletico Madrid and a poor end to the season with Milan, he now could be on his way back to Torino.

According to Tuttosport, Torino coach Giampiero Ventura is eager to bring back the Italian international in the hope he can replicate his 2013-14 form, when Cerci scored 13 goals for the Granata.

The deal is complicated somewhat by the player’s salary which is thought to be around €5 million per year.

With Milan already signing two forwards this summer, Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano, Cerci is no longer needed at the club.

Cerci is thought to be keen on the return to Torino, as the former Fiorentina and Roma man would find first team football hard to come by at Milan.
