RomagnoliAC Milan are hopeful of closing in on the signing of Alessio Romagnoli from Roma in a deal worth at least €25 million.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a highly productive season on loan at Sampdoria during the 2014-15 season under new Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and was already the subject of a failed €18 million bid from the Rossoneri earlier in the summer.

Roma, however were holding out for a larger fee, but now according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi are ready to allow the youngster to leave the club.

Confidence is growing at Milan that they will get their man, with the Rossoneri offering €25m plus bonuses and Adriano Galliani will start working on the deal on August 3 with the club hopeful of completing the deal by the end of the week.

The Italy U21 international has made just 43 senior career appearances to date, 30 of which came last season for the Blucerchiati
