AC Milan defender Gabriel Paletta is on the verge of a move to Atalanta.
La Dea are looking for a new centre-back to replace Yohan Benalouane, who has moved to the Premier League with Leicester City.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian international of Argentine origin, has already left the Rossoneri’s training ground and is set to sign a contract with the Orobici.
The Italian newspaper also reports that Atalanta were offered Philippe Mexes, but were reluctant to bring in the Frenchman.
Paletta only joined the Stadio Meazza outfit from Parma in the January transfer window and went on to make 14 Serie A appearances for the Diavoli.
However, it now appears that the 29-year-old is no longer in the plans of new Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.
