Atalanta and Bologna are both monitoring AC Milan defender Gabriel Paletta’s situation before the summer transfer window closes.

The 29-year-old joined the Rossoneri during the January transfer window from Parma for a fee in the region of €8 million. However, it is now believed that the club are ready to offload the defender.

Paletta has failed to replicate the form he showed for the Gialloblu during a successful spell and now finds himself on the fringes of the Milan set-up.

According to www.tuttomercatoweb.com, the €25 million transfer of the highly promising youngster Alessio Romagnoli from Roma to Milan has thrown Paletta’s future at the club into doubt.

Sinisa Mihajlovic is likely to start the campaign with the pairing of Philippe Mexes and Romagnoli for the upcoming Serie A season, thereby relegating the former Liverpool man to the bench.

It is believed that Atalanta are keen to sign the defender with the assurance of a place in the starting line-up while Bologna also remain interested.
