AC Milan hardman Gennaro Gattuso has been unveiled as the new coach of Lega Pro side AC Pisa.

Gattuso will return to the world of football after spending eight months out, as he will now take over the helm at the Nerazzurri who reside in Italy’s lower ranks. An announcement on Pisa’s official website revealed that the club has acquired the services of the former Palermo coach, who will be presented to the press on Friday afternoon.

“A.C. Pisa 1909 announces that it has entrusted the role of technical manager of the first team to Gennaro Gattuso,” The announcement read.

“The new coach will be joined by his assistant Luigi Riccio.

“Mr. Gennaro Gattuso will be presented to the press tomorrow at midday.”

Gattuso will try and rebuild his coaching career at the Tuscan club after failing to impress at both former clubs Palermo and Crete.

The ex-midfielder has been left without a job every since stepping down from Greek side OFI Crete, though after months of scouring for opportunities abroad his searches have finally brought him back to the Italian peninsula.
