AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini has reminisced about the joy of winning the Champions League following Thursday’s group stage draw.
The 47-year-old was present alongside Inter legend Javier Zanetti to take part in the draw at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.
‘When you have won the Champions League it is an amazing thing,” he said.
“When you win it again it is even better,” he continued.
“Thanks to god it happened several times.”
The former full-back also talked about the absence of both AC Milan and Inter from this year’s competition, especially given the final will be played at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
”Unfortunately we won’t have either Milan or Inter in this year’s competition, but it will be a great honour to host the final.”
