AC Milan are making their final attempt to sign Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg, but now have fresh competition.
The Rossoneri were hot on the heels of Sampdoria star Roberto Soriano, but the attention has now turned to the Belgium.
According to Calcionews24.com these are decisive hours for Milan, but have competition for Witsel in Tottenham Hotspur.
Milan are reportedly offering Zenit a €2 million loan deal for Witsel with an option to purchase the player for €23 million.
Witsel is keen to make the switch to Italy, but there is also Juventus who are trying to persuade him to reject their rivals.
Both sides will need to work fast, as other interested parties are preparing to meet the €40 million fee set by Zenit.
