montolivoAC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo has been linked with a move away to Ligue 1 runners-up Lyon.

The Italian international finds himself outside of new Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic’s plans for the side, after injuries limited his involvement.

Premium Sport reported that the versatile midfielder has also sparked the interest of several others clubs, including Monaco, Valencia and Roma.

Rumors surfaced in the week that Massimiliano Allegri was interested in bringing Montolivo to Juventus to help compensate for the loss of Andrea Pirlo earlier in the summer.

Montolivo captained AC Milan for two seasons before injuries ruled him out for extended periods at the beginning and end of the 2014-15 season.

Since his transfer from Fiorentina in 2012, Montolivo has made 88 appearances for Milan, scoring seven goals and setting up 11 assists along the way.
