Talks have stalled between the two sides, with the Blucerchiati waiting for a more enticing offer.

Sport Mediaset may have uncovered the answer, with Milan preparing to offer Jose Mauri to Sampdoria.

The 19-year-old only joined the Rossoneri this summer from Parma, but needs match practice.

Mauri would join Sampdoria on loan, while Milan would pay to sign Soriano permanently.

Both Chievo and Atalanta have expressed an interested in signing Mauri on a loan deal.

Napoli were pursuing Soriano, but withdrew when he expressed a desire to join Milan and be reunited with his former coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Mauri scored two goals from 33 appearances for his former side Parma and gained much attention for netting the winning goal in surprise win over Juventus for the bankrupt club.

Soriano featured 33 times and scored four times for Samp in the 2014-15 season.
