Serie A side Atalanta are to bring in a ban on smoking at their Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia ground as of Sunday.

The stadium has recently been restructured in what has been described as ‘all’inglese’ – ‘in an english style’, bringing it closer in line with the way Premier League arenas are run in the UK.

“All areas of the ground will be free from smoke, in an attempt to bring well-being and football together,” announced the Bergamo club’s official website, ahead of Sunday’s clash with Frosinone.

“It is hoped fans will be able to watch the game in a more healthy atmosphere which will be to the benefit of all those that attend the match.”

Atalanta take on Frosinone, with both sides looking to earn their first points of the new Serie A campaign.

The Oribici lost 1-0 against Inter last weekend to a late Stevan Jovetic goal, whilst the Canarini went down 2-1 at home with Torino.
