Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has praised Fiorentina’s potential after their 2-1 win at home to the Spanish giants, though has bemoaned his side’s defensive capabilities.

The Viola held out against their Catalan opposition after youngster Federico Bernardeschi bagged two goals in quick succession, a feat which Enrique believes was made all too easy by Barcelona’s sloppy defending.

“I’m disappointed that we lost,” Enrique said after the game.

“The defence needs to improve, we’ve trained over these sorts of things.

“We can not afford to leave all those spaces., it’s true that I saw some good play, but we have to improve.

“Fiorentina are a very strong side, they have a lot of potential and important players. [Giuseppe] Rossi has made a fantastic recovery for his team,  and I wish him a great season.

Star midfielder Andres Iniesta looked to have picked up a heavy injury during the match, though the Spanish coach isn’t worried, assuring that the injury is nothing substantial.
