Sassuolo 1-0 at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara on Saturday evening in Serie A.

Antonio Floro Flores scored in the 86th minute of the game to give Sassuolo a much deserved victory, and the victory means Sassuolo have taken six points of the possible six in opening two games of the season.

Sassuolo had two chances to go front inside 10 minutes when Nicola Sansone had been played through balls twice, but Bologna goalkeeper Antonio Mirante reacted smartly to deny the Neroverdi forward.

Bologna had their first attempt on goal in the 16th minute when Mattia Destro hit his long-range shot straight to the hands of Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.

At around half an hour mark, Gregoire Defrel had an attempt on goal for Sassuolo, but his shot was well wide of the goal.

Sassuolo dominated possession in the final 10 minutes of the first half, but Bologna’s compact defence denied their chances to go ahead.

Sassuolo started the second half brightly. Meanwhile  Bologna looked for opportunities on the counter attack and created couple of chances in the opening 15 minutes of the second period.

Midway through the second half, Sassuolo had a glorious chance to go ahead, but Alfred Duncan missed an easy tap-ins off Federico Peluso’s cross.

With 10 minutes left on the clock, Bologna’s Franco Brienza had a spectacular effort on goal from edge off the box, but Consigli was positioned in the right place to save it.

Taking advantage of  a poor Bologna corner-kick in the 86th minute, Sassuolo produced a quick counter which resulted in Floro Flores sloting past Mirante to give Sassuolo a much deserved lead.

Floro Flores’ strike ensured the Neroverdi are top of Serie A after the first match of round two.
