Carpi 2-1 at the Stadio Alberto Braglia on Sunday evening in Serie A, stopping the home side from gaining their first ever point in Serie A.

Stevan Jovetic popped the Nerazzurri in front but Antonio Di Gaudio brought the home side deservedly level with just 10 minutes remaining. Jovetic added to his opener by stroking home a penalty with just minutes remaining to earn the Nerazzurri all three points.

The home side began the better of the two teams with Ryder Matos, the heartbeat of Carpi’s attack, going on a mazy run before being brought down by Jeison Murillo in the penalty area, but the striker’s protests were waved away.

The Nerazzurri soon registered their first shot on target prior to the quarter of an hour mark, Juan Jesus let fly with a powerful drive that Zeljko Brkic did well to hold onto.

It was Matos again who provided the Biancorossi’s next chance with half an hour played, but he was denied by both the fingertips of Handanovic and the offside flag.

Roberto Mancini’s men made the breakthrough straight after with Jovetic tapping home from two yards following his first effort being half-saved by Brkic and landing fortuitously to his feet.

Both Carpi and Inter forced themselves into the final third during the opening exchanges of the second half, but neither side could fashion up any sort of chance.

Carpi would get the goal their performance deserved with just 10 minutes left on the clock, Di Gaudio beating Handanovic with a first-time shot that trickled neatly into the bottom corner.

The drama didn’t stop there, with Inter being awarded a penalty two minutes from time. Jovetic stepped up and converted, handing the Nerazzurri all three points and keeping their 100 per cent record in tact.
