Serie A new boys Carpi have sealed the signature of Genoa striker Marco Borriello.

Former Italy international Borriello enjoyed productive spells with the Grifone as well as AC Milan, and Roma earlier in his career. After dipping in and out of form at the Stadio Olimpico he moved back to the Genoa in January 2015.

The latest transfer in the 33-year-old’s career is to Modena and the Biancorossi, allowing Genoa to complete the switch that has now been confirmed by the club.

Carpi will be the 12th team Borriello has played for, having turned out for the likes of Juventus, Treviso, and West Ham United, and will likely find himself called upon when Fabrizio Castori’s side take on Palermo after the international break.

Their start to life in Serie A has been unforgiving, with Stevan Jovetic sealing a late win for Inter against Carpi on Sunday after the opening weekend 5-2 loss to Sampdoria.
